Delaney is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, with minors in Psychology and Creative Writing. Delaney is passionate about counseling, mental health education, and the destigmatization of mental health treatment. This passion stems from witnessing the differences these have made in the lives of those around her.
Delaney is dedicated to working with adults and teens to address anxiety, depression, stress management, ADHD, OCD, spirituality and faith, grief, and other areas of concern. She is interested in integrating spirituality and faith into her counseling practice, tailoring it to her clients’ preferences. As a future counselor, Delaney wants people to know that they are not alone. She values transparency and building authentic, empathetic therapeutic relationships with each client.
Delaney employs several different therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She believes the counseling process is inherently collaborative, tailoring her approach to each client’s unique needs and goals. Delaney recognizes that we have all experienced hurt at some point, and many are still walking through it. She aspires to help clients experience hope in the midst of hurt and to equip them to engage in positive growth, building their resilience.
