Kendall earned her Associate of Science in General Studies from J. Sarge Reynolds Community College in 2022 and her Bachelor of Science in Human Development with a minor in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2024. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling at Wake Forest University.
Prior to joining KCC, Kendall gained experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both community-based and inpatient settings. She spent two years working as a Crisis Counselor at a Women’s Resource Center, supporting women and children impacted by domestic and sexual violence. She also completed six months as an inpatient adolescent counseling intern at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, where she worked with adolescents ages 12–17. Her experience there included providing individual and family therapy and facilitating educational and therapeutic groups.
Kendall approaches counseling from a person-centered perspective and incorporates principles and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She strives to create a supportive environment in which clients can explore their experiences, develop greater insight, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Rather than imposing her own perspective, Kendall works collaboratively with clients to identify goals that reflect their individual needs, values, and experiences.
Kendall may incorporate goal setting and between-session activities to help clients practice new skills, challenge unhelpful patterns, and work toward healthier habits. She takes a holistic approach to counseling, considering each client's past experiences, present circumstances, relationships, strengths, and future goals. Recognizing that every client is unique, Kendall prioritizes individualized treatment tailored to the whole person.
Kendall has experience working with adult women, mothers, children, adolescents, LGBTQ+ clients, and neurodivergent individuals. Her clinical experience includes working with concerns related to trauma, domestic and sexual violence, substance use, family and relationship difficulties, abandonment, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and significant emotional or behavioral distress.
Outside of counseling, Kendall enjoys spending time with her dog, Autumn, playing mahjong with friends, and watching movies.
