Marguerite is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has lived in the Triad since 1994. She began her professional career as a middle and high school teacher and then earned her Master’s in Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill in 2013. Since then, Marguerite has continued to serve clients of all ages, focusing on each individual's need for connection, belonging, and positive self-esteem by treating depression, anxiety, grief, loss, addiction and trauma. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as well as other approaches for treating trauma. She is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) with experience treating substance dependence and co-occurring mental and biological health concerns, and is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She is trained in Satir Family Systems Therapy and enjoys helping her clients improve family relationships and restore connection.
Marguerite strives to embrace a holistic approach to address the needs of the whole person – biologically, psychologically, socially and spiritually, and considers it a privilege to assist others as they navigate life’s journey. She is also a Certified/Qualified Clinical Supervisor (CCS/QS) and may be available to provide supervision for associate level clinicians pursuing LCSW, LCMHC, and LCAS licensure. When not in the office Marguerite can be found spending time with her husband, their adult children and grandchildren and her dog Ginger, and she enjoys cooking, reading and being outdoors with nature.
