Renee’s counseling philosophy is grounded in person-centered theory and is influenced by solution-focused, narrative, strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral theories. Renée’s core belief is that people possess innate strengths, resiliency, and capacity for growth and positive change in their lives and that counselor empathy is a vital component in the therapeutic relationship. Renée uses collaborative discussions with clients to help them explore the connections between their experiences and emotions and how those connections can enrich their identity and help them create their preferred life narrative. Renée focuses on client strengths to help build client-driven solutions and an individualized pathway forward and views her role as counselor as providing a safe space and guiding support for clients while they navigate through difficult challenges and discover areas of empowerment and growth opportunities in their lives.
Renée is interested in working with children, adolescents and adults from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and identities who experience anxiety, panic disorder, depression, trauma, bullying, self-esteem challenges, and life challenges.
